Kelly Fraser
Kelly Fraser brings a wealth of counseling and college admissions experience to Admissions Advantage. Kelly has worked as a consultant to Harvard University's Crimson Summer Academy, a college advising program for exceptional students in Boston and Cambridge public schools. While in residence on the Harvard campus, Academy Scholars enroll in Harvard courses and in Academy courses. Kelly teaches an Academy course on college planning and preparation. This program facilitates entrance to our nation’s most prestigious colleges for our most underserved students. Kelly began her career at Brookline High School as coordinator of the school’s innovative Work Connections for Youth, a summer internship program geared to students from low-income settings. She went on to serve for five years as a counselor at Dover-Sherborn High School (a U.S. News & World Report "Gold Medal School") where she worked with 200 graduating seniors on their post-secondary planning and placement at many of our topmost colleges. Kelly also became District Testing Coordinator, overseeing administration of the PSAT and SAT. She spearheaded student discussion groups on topics such as women's issues and school culture, and developed a new comprehensive test anxiety reduction curriculum. Kelly holds a BA from Boston University, an MA in Counseling from Northeastern, and in 2007 she finished a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study program in Education Administration at the University of Massachusetts, which led to licensing as a school principal. Kelly is a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling. |
